Da leggere a tempo perso -To read as a pastime is an editorial project of which the future is the theme. In particular, it tells the history of utopia and its antagonists: dystopia and uchronia. The connection between human being and utopia reveals a lot about the time we are living and what we think about the future. From an iconographic point of view, pictures represent a parallel way that artists and photographers have tried to present a portrait of the present and to create a new concept of thefuture. The story is divided in two parts, one of images and the other one of text in different colors. Also, colours are inverted on every page, such as the stories that sometimes have the same course and at other times they diverge or contrast.
This project is a part of a class magazine that I and my classmate decided to analyze the future in this particular way. The format is A3, texts have been composed and written by us and images has been carefully chosen.
The title is a pun words because it has double meaning: reading an article during spare time and also a “time” that is lost forever. We think about utopia, dystopia and uchronia where time and actions are something that will never happen.

"Uchronia is a neologism from the word utopia (Greek u-topos no-place), replacing topos with chronos (time). It refers to a hypothetical or fictional time-period of our world, in contrast to altogether fictional lands or worlds. A concept similar to alternate history but different in the manner that uchronic times are not easily defined (mainly placed in some distant or unspecified point before current times), sometimes reminiscent of a constructed world".
